TT5080 is ultra-fine grain carbide with PVD multi-layer AlTiN-TiN coating. Post-coating treatment effectively suppresses built-up edge, balancing fracture toughness and high-temperature wear resistance.
Recommended cutting data
1) Group M: Stainless Steel (304 / 316 / Ferritic / Martensitic)
- Ferritic / Martensitic stainless steel (HB ≤ 220)
Vc: 100–180 m/min; f: 0.08–0.22 mm/rev; ap ≤ 2.0 mm - Austenitic 304 / 316 (prone to work hardening)
Vc: 70–140 m/min; f: 0.06–0.18 mm/rev; roughing ap ≤ 1.5 mm, finishing ap 0.2–0.8 mm
Sufficient water-soluble cutting fluid must be supplied throughout machining to avoid edge chipping caused by work hardening.
2) Group S: Superalloys & Titanium Alloys
- Iron-based superalloys (HB ≤ 280)
Vc: 40–160 m/min; f: 0.06–0.15 mm/rev; ap ≤ 1.2 mm - Nickel / Cobalt-based superalloys (annealed / aged)
