Walter Numbering System
Walter milling cutter codes follow this pattern:

- F — Face mill or end mill
- M — Module/multi-purpose

F2010 Series — High-Feed Milling
The F2010 family is Walter’s flagship high-feed (≥1mm/tooth) milling cutter. Designed for productive roughing with shallow axial DOC (0.5–2mm) and high feed rates. Excels in mold cavity roughing and pocket roughing.
Inserts: round LNGX or rectangular ZDET geometry.
Typical application: roughing P20 mold steel at fz=1.5mm, ap=1mm, Vc=200 m/min.

M5009 Series — Face Milling
General-purpose face milling cutter, 45° entering angle. Sweet spot for steel and cast iron facing operations at depth of cut up to 5mm.
Inserts: ONHU geometry, octagonal 8-edge for low cost-per-edge.
Typical application: facing 1045 steel at Vc=240 m/min, fz=0.25mm, ap=4mm.
F4042 Series — Indexable End Mills
Square-shoulder end mill with 90° entering angle. Ideal for shoulder milling, slot milling, and pocket milling where a true vertical wall is required.
Inserts: ADMT or ADKT square-shoulder geometry.
Typical application: shoulder milling 1018 steel at Vc=180 m/min, fz=0.20mm, ap=10mm, ae=4mm.
F4030 Series — Long-Reach End Mills
Same geometry as F4042 but with extended reach for deep pocketing. Steel-shank version up to 4×D, carbide-shank to 7×D.

- WAK10/15/20 — Aluminum/non-ferrous, polished
- WSM10/20/30 — Stainless and superalloys, PVD AlTiN
- WPP10/20/30 — General steel, CVD multilayer
- WKK10/20 — Cast iron, CVD Al2O3 outer
- WTH10/20 — Hardened steel, ceramic or CBN
